Alexandria Professional Body Sugaring Hair Removal
HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE?
We recommend your hair being at least 1/8-1/4 of an inch for optimal hair removal. For most people this is usually around 2 weeks of growth.

For optimal results it is recommended that your hair would be 3 to 6 mm long, which equates to approximately 2 weeks of growth.

HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED BODY SUGARING TREATMENTS?
Your consultant will be pleased to discuss free of charge and without obligation, a program of treatments to meet your individual needs.Since hair growth varies from one person to another, appointments are scheduled within 4-6 weeks range, to cater to your specific needs.
DOES SUGARING HURT?
Similarly to waxing, sugaring involves the removal of hair by the root. However, sugaring gives superior results to waxing with less discomfort because the sugar paste does not adhere to live skin cells—skin is left feeling soft and clean, not irritated and sticky.
WHO CAN GET SUGARED?
Anyone wishing to remove unwanted body and facial hair can benefit from sugaring. Sugaring is safe to use on areas with spider veins, varicose veins and dry-itch eczema, and is also safe for individuals with diabetes.
WILL I GET INGROWN HAIRS?
Unlike waxing, which can actually worsen ingrown problems, sugaring actually assists in the diminishment of ingrown hairs.
I'VE BEEN BURNED BY WAX IN THE PAST…WILL THAT HAPPEN WITH SUGARING?
Sugar is applied at a very comfortable temperature.
WILL I GET DISCOLORATION ON MY LIP IF I SUGAR?
Sugaring will not damage delicate facial skin tissue over long-term use.
Ear Candling
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE?
You’ll first lie down on your side while keeping your body in a straight alignment. Next, a special conical candle is inserted into a protective plate, and the small tapered end of the candle is gently placed into your canal. The candle is then lit and slowly begins to burn. Because of the special shape, design and length of the candle, unhealthy toxins are easily extracted from your ear.

Afterwards, you may feel warmth or itchiness up to 2 days after the procedure.

Note: This is procedure is not recommended for those who have ear tubes, perforated ear drums or artificial ear drums.

BACK FACIALS / BACK FACIAL TREATMENTS
WHAT IS BACK FACIAL TREATMENT?
Back facial is defined as the treatment of the back skin. It uses the same techniques and treatments used in facial skin treatment in addition with deep pore cleansing and extra softening. It gives you a healthy and glowing back. Back facial is also good for acne problems in the back. Both men and women can have their own back facial treatment according to their skin type.
HOW IT WORKS?
The back facial begins with your aesthetician analyzing your skin to determine which medical grade products will help you attain your goal. When the treatment begins, your aesthetician will use steam to open up the pores and soften the skin. If extractions are needed they will be performed, after which hydrating mask may be applied if appropriate.
THE RESULTS:
Results vary depending on the treatment that best fits your skin type, but ultimately the back facial is designed to leave you with healthy, glowing skin.
Facial
HOW WILL THE FACIAL BEGIN
You will be asked to complete a brief, confidential client information card, which will aid the esthetician in determining the appropriate treatment for your skin. After being escorted to the facial room, you will be seated in a facial chair. The esthetician will place a coverlet over you to protect your clothing and ensure your comfort. The treatment will begin with the esthetician cleansing and analysing your skin. Using the information from your client card and skin analysis, the esthetician will discuss how the facial you have chosen will benefit your individual skin.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET FACIALS?
Monthly facials are recommended to help aid in the cell turn over process that happens approximately every 28 days. As we age, this cell turnover process slows down, contributing to dull sallow looking skin, fine lines, wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, and coarse textured skin. Monthly facials assist your body in doing more efficiently what it is “supposed” to do on its own.
WHAT DO I WEAR DURING A FACIAL?
The esthetician will need access to upper chest during service. We encourage a shirtless service and have garments and bedding to cover you for modesty. We will accommodate your preference.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING A FACIAL TREATMENT?
Most facials consist of a double cleanse with steam, exfoliation, extractions including a skin analysis, facial and upper body massage, facial mask, and hydration. Depending on the facial and your skincare history, the exfoliation performed will vary.
WILL MY SKIN BE RED OR IRRITATED AFTER MY FACIAL?
Slight redness could occur after a facial, especially if you’ve received any sort of chemical exfoliation and/or a large amount of extractions. Certain skin types, including those that tend to be more sensitive, may be prone to experiencing more redness post treatment.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH USING SOAP AND WATER, MY MOTHER USED IT WHEN SHE WAS GROWING UP?
Most soaps are detergent based and can alter the pH level of the skin. The normal ph level is 5.5, the aggressive actions of soap can strip the skin of its natural protective layer of oil leaving the skin dry and susceptible to bacterial infections such as blemishes.

Back in the “old days” it was acceptable to use soap on the face as they were often home made with pure natural ingredients (there was nothing else available, you couldn’t go to the Mall to purchase your skincare) and the climate conditions then, are not like the harsh environment of today.
